No Wiggles, No Way
posted Thursday July 23rd, 2009
At our staff meeting Monday, my fellow day-jobbers at the alt weekly were horrified to hear we were writing about The Wiggles, and only slightly less so when I announced the piece was about how I refused to review their upcoming Phoenix show.
“And Sophie has never liked The Wiggles,” I exclaimed, at the end of a diatribe about the short shelf life of this group. More blank stares.
OK, so maybe New Times wasn’t the right venue for the piece. But hey, as you’ll learn, it wasn’t my idea….

Loved the piece, great tip for the kids music blog! Thanks! I do not miss the Wiggles but I know what you mean about watching your kids. My mother loves watching K. watch her musicals since she will act out every musical part by heart and it is very entertaining!
I know a LOT of old rockers and assorted bohemians who have litle kids now, and mags like Bust know that it’s smart to target them with ed. content and ads both . . . maybe right now they’re living even further off the grid because of the economy, but they’ll start spending again, ‘specially on their kids. And they want really bad to be able to remain hip while doing so.
