I just found your blog. I love your writing and honesty and am very moved and inspired by your true stories. Thank you for sharing them. I am 50 (10/25) and have a 11 year old sixth grade son in middle school. He’s a little of everything, empathetic and self centered, geeky and sporty, awkward and cool, shy and social. He is a kid who at least four other mom’s tell me is their son’s best friend. I am going to use your mix at my home this Friday when 11 dear friend’s come for a bunco night. Perfect to encourage our movement momentum after our various women’s marches last Saturday! (Santa Cruz, San Jose and San Francisco)

One of my favorite Girl in a Party Hat posts! And that’s saying something because I have MANY favorites.

The season is coming upon us when those holiday greeting cards begin arriving in the mail. This post reminds me of the type of letter I would love to find tucked in a Christmas / Hanukkah card. I feel rather inspired to write one myself. Thank you, Amy.

I’ve also been feeling guilty about feeling like it has been my best year, while everyone really had it tough. It’s very humbling, somehow. There have been so many big, positive changes for me this year (becoming a blogger being one of them!), but I feel that maybe I should enjoy it in silence, in respect to the rest of the world.

By the way, I also enjoyed your book. To be honest, my review of your NetGalley copy was my first review that got a big number of likes (for me, then), which pushed me to start reviewing more and get a blog in a few months. Thank you for you! You will survive high school, but will I survive high school after-life? Keep writing…it keeps the rock from pushing me under. Also could you add Joni Mitchell’s The River to your mix – then I’m good
