That’s great! Congrats to Sophie. I remember the butter project, didn’t know it turned out that way. Marshmallows are cooler anyway.

Well, there ya’ go. Ha ha! That’s all you need: knowing your strengths & weaknesses, then knowing how to network and use other resources.

Speaking as a fellow scientist to your helpful science teacher friend, the ribbon was indeed awarded for science done well. Nope, it wasn’t dumbed down – good science projects don’t have to be complicated.
