Yes, ugh -- but also bravo for your attitude, and good luck (whatever that means). I assume it's a long wait for the results? I find myself wishing that your blog was a book already, so I can skim ahead and find out the result.

But I'm also thinking: you don't need to run for the legislature to change the law. Find a sympathetic legislator (do those exist in AZ?), circulate a petition, write an Op-Ed piece or two, attend a gazillion meetings, wait a year or so for the process to grind on, and then voila: new law. Of course, it might be futile to even attempt this in this economy -- but really, all it takes is a few allies and some writing skill and research skill, and you have all of that.

Ugh. (This is Joyce) Well the day has come, again. I hope you are able to fit a really great treat into the day too, just because it will make up for the nonsense of it all.

So sweet. Sounds like you are handling a ridiculous situation with as much grace as you can. I anxiously await your news, whatever it is.
Love the rickrack on Sophie's pillow!

Really? Epilepsy? Geez, I didn't know that. Is there some kind of state service that can get my kid to stop wearing silver metallic costumes (that we have tried convincing him cause seizures)? I might try to sign the boy up before he embarrasses himself in middle school...

Beautiful picture! I can appreciate your comment about "outwitting" the legislators since we know that there is a totality to wisdom that can't be measured and that IQ in itself has nothing to do with it. I'm sad that there has to be proof of anything but individuality of need and that ALL individuals can't have access to whatever extra they might need whenever they need it when it comes to skills. Perhaps the Legislators need special services around common sense and emotional intelligence? I know right now I need special services around my shoulders! You must have a bunch of Cancer astrologically to have so many collections!
