I just finished reading “Julie and Julia” and I sort of had the same sense of disappointment about it. It was a good book, but really not what I was expecting. There was never a point where I considered not finishing it, but I did find that I didn’t identify with a lot of the feelings she had or how she approached life. I do admit I skimmed the last chapter also.

Sounds like some interesting books. Glad you got some reading time in, now that is the sign of a true vaca. Sorry that the squid added an element of stress to your time away but it sounds like you had enough to distract you! Did you go to Disney? I heard they took away the “pass.” What’s the story with that?
