While our housemate put the kitten in her room, I caught the dove in my hands and put him outside, without the use of both my legs — we were all a little amazed, as I am usually far from superhuman.

I feel your pain and squeamishness re: the “gifts” you’ve received from your cat. One of the many reasons I decided to keep my cats indoors half way through their lives. I know that issue stirs up debate but it has worked for me ( and the wildlife) and the cats honestly appear none the worst for wear. I don’t miss visions of tiny heads on my areas rugs!
