I know what you mean about the basketball story, I had some issues with it, even though I did post it. I cringed at the part about him filling bottles for nine years too. I mean, nine years and he gets one crummy game? WTH? But I also thought it was great to see how well he moved on the court, made a shot. I don't know. I guess it IS depressing but it's also not, at the same time. It's hard to explain. I also struggle with that notion of being smart enough to know you're different. That thought kills me. It's almost like I hope Leo isn't THAT smart, but at the same time I want him to be. It's complicated.

And the birthday party invites, well we've discussed that. I think that holds true with all kids, we all want our kids to be included, popular, etc. But the Ds just adds another delightful layer of differentness. As we all know we don't need to have an extra chromosome to be excluded. I'm excited for Sophie (and you!) that she seems to be a popular (hardly surprising!) little person!

And I just wanted you to know that I got the syringe that you recommended and it worked fabulously! Thank you so much for the tip. I am now a syringe med convert. Let's hope we don't need more antibiotics for a while but if we do, I know what we'll use to get them in. And I can imagine when they are older that squirting it themselves would be fun too.
Have a great weekend. Hey it's supposed to be 49 here on Sunday. I am breaking out the bikini.

Those kinds of stories bother me too. I wish they didn't.

I'm glad to hear about Sophie's party invitations. For some reason "not getting invited to birthday parties" is one of the things I worry about.
